Ensemble de données

RCSM - totaux quotidiens estimés: Teslin Lake Bird Banding Station

À propos

Résumé de l’ensemble de données

Daily counts from Teslin Lake Bird Banding Station (TLBBS) of birds banded and observed during daily operations; plus a composite Daily Estimated Total (DET): the best estimate for each species of unduplicated number of individuals detected within the official count area during the daily monitoring period

Saison(s) et fréquence

Daily coverage from 25 July to 20 October (with standardized coverage ending 30 September)

Région géographique couverte

Located in southern Yukon Territory (60.27, -132.89). Migrants at the site originate primarily from breeding range in Yukon, Alaska and western Northwest Territories

Principales espèces couvertes

Captures are primarily small passerines, but all species observed are recorded

Objectifs

To conduct standardized daily migration season counts and collect ancillary data on migration ecology for use in long-term biological and population monitoring of Canada’s bird species

Méthodologie

Plan d’échantillonnage

Daily capture and observation during migration seasons to generate species-specific daily totals of birds detected within each study site

Méthodes de terrain

Daily operations (standardized in 2008) include banding using 13 nets (6 hr, starting 15 min before dawn), followed by a 1-hr migration visible migration watch

Méthodes d'analyse

See QuickLinks. Population trends for all species at this site are based on Daily Estimated Totals

Suggestions

Any disruption to standardized operations relevant to appropriate interpretation of analytical results should be noted in a regularly-updated section of the station protocol (https://www.birdscanada.org/bird-science/cmmn-protocols)
