Project name: The State of Canada's Birds

Goals : Monitors the status and trends of Atlantic Canada Goose.

Dataset summary : The Atlantic population of Canada Goose nests in northern Québec, especially along the shores of Ungava Bay and eastern Hudson Bay (where 80% of breeding birds are found), and in the interior of the Ungava Peninsula. The Atlantic population winters from New England to South Carolina, with the largest concentration occurring on the Delmarva Peninsula. The spring survey covers the flat coastal tundra of Ungava Bay and Hudson Bay and associated taiga and inland tundra, the areas of highest Canada Goose densities.
