We visited a series of reclaimed well sites that varied in the time since reclamation to determine which species were present on and adjacent to the well site. The observer stood in the middle of the well site when doing the survey and recorded the distance at which birds were heard. The 50m radius detection typically would only include birds on the well site as a well site is typically 1 hectare in size.
